It was always going to be a truncated season. A small player pool, an unwillingness to travel beyond the bounds of Dulwich and an indifference to mid summer fixtures meant a much smaller fixture list than in previous seasons. Still we expected more cricket than we had managed by early summer. March and early April were wet, so wet in fact that the pitches in late April and early May were still unplayable and all three early season fixtures were cancelled. After a thumping from Jesmond in our only May fixture, we were saved by the rain against Palm Tree in June and then fell short of a tough run chase against the youngesters of Dulwich CC when fielding our own youth eleven. Looking into July we have one more oppoortunity to avoid a winless season.
